Self-Lube is the registered trademark for the RHP range of wide inner ring bearings and mounted bearing units. Self-Lube units provide simple and effective bearing arrangements capable of accommodating moderate initial misalignment from mounting errors. They are easily mounted onto commercial shafting and are particularly useful where fabricated machine frames are employed. The units are available in a variety of pillow block and flange mounted configurations with one piece cast iron or two-piece pressed steel housings. Self-Lube inserts are wide inner ring ball bearings that are effectively and efficiently sealed. Simple fitting onto standard shafting is provided for by means of eccentric locking collar, set screws or adapter sleeve. The reliability, simplicity and ease of assembly of items in the Self-Lube range has resulted in their popularity for agricultural, extraction and construction machinery as well as process and automation equipment.

Pillow Blocks 

Pillow blocks (Plummer blocks) are the most common type of bearing unit. The complete units feature a bearing mounted in a simple, rigid housing. They are extensively used in a range of transmission equipment and general machinery.

Square Flanged Units 

These bearing housings have a square flange which can be easily attached to a machine with four bolts. With a simple mounting face, square flanged units are widely used.

Oval Flanged Units 

The bearing housing features a diamond-shaped flange for easy mounting to the machine base or side wall with two bolts. They are suited in applications where mounting space and the distance between shafts is small. Often, the spacing between bolt holes is equal to the diagonal positioning of square-flange types.

Ball Bearings: Set Screw Type 

Set screw ball bearings are specially designed for bearing units and come in a range of models depending on the mounting.

Ball Bearing Units Steel Series

The rolled steel microstructure is more consistent than cast iron or cast steel, reducing the risk of housing fracture under severe conditions. Rolled steel housing dimensions are consistent with cast units, allowing them to be interchanged with NSK standard housings and other manufacturers ISO standard.

Ball Bearing Units with Ductile Cast Iron Housing

NSK ductile iron series housings weight 40 % less in comparison with standard NSK housings made with gray cast iron. NSK ductile cast iron series housings are approximately 30% stronger than standard NSK housings made with gray cast iron. NSK ductile cast iron series housings are interchangeable with standard NSK ball bearing units.
